There will be several medal events involving Indian athletes. Manju Rani and Priyanka Goswami will compete in the women’s marathon race walk, while Harjinder Kaur will be in action in the women’s 69kg weightlifting medal event.
Squash will also be a major attraction, with Abhay Singh taking on Malaysia’s Ng Eain Yow in the men’s singles gold medal match and Anahat Singh facing Sivasangari Subramaniam in the women’s singles final.
Athletics will see several Indian medal contenders in action. Tejaswin Shankar and Thowfeeq Noushad will continue their decathlon campaign, while Shaili Singh, Ancy Sojan, Harita Bhadra, Unnathi Bolland, Animesh Kujur, Sarvesh Kushare, J Aadarsh Ram, Nandhini Kongan, Parul Chaudhary and Ankita will compete in medal events.
India will also compete in shooting, boxing, badminton, archery, hockey, fencing, sailing, surfing, sepak takraw, volleyball, kurash and equestrian.
