'Delhi's AQI improving': GRAP-3 measures revoked; stage 1 and 2 to remain in force

NEW DELHI: The Commission for Air Quality Management’s (CAQM) sub-committee on Wednesday revoked stage 3 measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), citing a “steady improvement” in Delhi’s air quality over the past three days.Also Read | Delhi air emergency: GRAP Stage III enforced; govt orders 50% work from home — key points However, the panel clarified that restrictions under stages 1 and 2 will continue to remain in force until further orders.“The AQI of Delhi has been improving since last 3 days and has been recorded 327 today. Further, the forecast by IMD/IITM predicts the AQI to remain in ‘very poor’ category in the coming days,” the sub-committee said in its order.“The sub-committee, accordingly, decided to revoke its orders dated November 11, for invoking actions under stage 3 (‘severe’ air quality) schedule of GRAP (modified on November 21), with immediate effect. Actions under stage-1 and 2, shall, however, remain invoked,” it added.The panel added that it will keep a “close watch” on the air quality situation and issue further directions, if and when required.
