NEW DELHI: Lalu Prasad Yadav‘s daughter, Rohini Acharya, who announced her separation from both her family and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday, has now levelled fresh and explosive allegations against her brother and party leader Tejashwi Yadav. Just a day after declaring she was distancing herself, Rohini accused Tejashwi of humiliating and abusing her, claiming that matters escalated to the point where “a slipper was raised to hit her.Taking to X, Rohini wrote an emotional post, stating she was forced to leave behind her aged parents, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi – in tears while protecting her dignity. She posted writing in Hindi, which translates to: “Yesterday, a daughter, a sister, a married woman, a mother was humiliated, filthy abuses were hurled at her, a slipper was raised to hit her. I did not compromise on my self-respect, I did not surrender the truth, and solely because of this, I had to endure this insult. Yesterday, a daughter, out of compulsion, left behind her crying parents and sisters and came away; they tore me away from my maternal home. They left me orphaned. May none of you ever walk my path, may no family ever have a daughter-sister like Rohini.”A day earlier, Rohini had already shocked RJD supporters by alleging, “I have no family. You can go and ask this to Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, and Tejashwi Yadav. They are the ones who threw me out of the family.”This public fallout comes right after the RJD’s historic electoral collapse, where the Tejashwi-led party in this election secured only 25 out of 143 seats, losing over 100 seats. This is not the first fracture within the family. Months ago, Lalu expelled his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from the party. Tej Pratap went on to launch his own party, Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), contesting from Mahua, only to lose by a massive margin, with his party failing to make a mark.
